Maztica Campaign

I discovered the Forgotten Realms land of Maztica a few months ago. I had just watched the anime series Mysterious Cities of Gold, and I was inspired to create a role playing campaign set in the "New America" world of the Aztecs. I studied some GURPS materials (specifically Aztecs and Places of Mystery), then did some research into an old 1st Edition module (C1: The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan). From there, I decided to find any references to "New America" settings in Dungeons and Dragons.

The Wizards of the Coast site proved to be a huge wealth of material. There is a section where old materials can be downloaded, for free. After downloading everything I could get my mouse pointer on, I began to peruse it. Lo and behold, there was Maztica, an entire setting from the 2nd Edition, that I had never heard of. Now I had a significant background item, and after purchasing the 3rd Edition Forgotten Realms, have begun building the campaign.

I intend to use this site as a place to post the historical setting for the campaign (for the most part it will follow whatever information I can gather, between the boxed Maztica and the triad of Maztica-based novels), as well as the initial characters to be played for the campaign. I hope the players of the campaign, and anyone who finds this site it offhand, find the site useful.
